2018年7月底，由於噶瑪巴其它女友可能前往紐約及華盛頓，於是噶瑪巴將鄔幸兒單獨支開，命令她自行飛往芝加哥KTC中心，並出言哄騙「芝加哥不會吃掉你的」。噶瑪巴與鄔幸兒約定8月初回紐約酒店相見作為「補償」。

At the end of July 2018, considering some other girls would meet the Karmapa in New York and Washington DC, he demanded her to fly alone to Chicago and stayed at KTC center to avoid the girls meeting one aother. The Karmapa teased Wu that, "Chicago wouldn't eat you alive." And he promised to date her at the hotel in New York at the beginning of August as a compensation.
